Fair Game?

I am taking a quick break from writing my research paper. I feel like this picture adequately sums up my college experience at the mo.
I have the hardest time writing papers. I always say straight up to my teachers that for me to write a good paper is pretty much the same as trying to shove a square into a circle. It just never works out. I just have never developed that aspect of my education. I have a very short attention span, which makes it particularly hard when I have to write research papers and responses.

I give some credit to my high school teachers. In 10th grade, I read The Scarlett Letter, and for the most part understood it quite well. We then were asked to write a 3 page essay on it. A simple 3 page essay. This was one of the first essays written in that class. I got a 63%. That is an F. I read the book, understood the material, and took time write out 3 pages of information, and yet, I barely reached the 60 percentile. Who does that to a 10th grader???

I have be traumatized ever since, and have always felt that no matter what I write, and no matter how much time goes into it, I will NEVER end up with the results I want. I rarely even reread my drafts, in fear that I what I wrote was absolute rubbish.

So my question is this. If I am going to college to learn how to illustrate children's books, why in the world am I still writing papers. Can't I just paint them a picture and call it good?!

The irony of it all is that my research paper is on how general education classes for the most part are a waste of time, are too broad of subjects, and aren't interesting enough, and bring down your GPA and ultimately cause students to drop out before they even get into their major...

Ha. Take that, college.

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you, tomorrow I'll miss you...

Just an update.

Jeff is coming home in 20 days. Has it really been 3 months already? It seems like 20 years. Which I haven't even been alive for that long. Oh well. The fact is, my man is coming home, and then we are getting married. Life is looking up.Oh my Jeffrey, always living on the edge...

On the down side, I haven't been feeling too well when it comes to my teeth. The swelling has gone down, but I am having aches and pains and (don't look for the queezy) oozing constantly, which is the sickest thing ever. I always have a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully I am not infected too badly. I shall see tomorrow at my check up. I hope this doesn't interfere with Disneyland next week!

Also, my dress is all finished! I am going to go for my final fitting, and then they shall clean and press it, and I will be good to go! Hooray for my dress!
