I am starting a new online portfolio to showcase my more recent works, and I created the home page yesterday. It is a rough draft of what I am going for, but I just wanted to know what you all thought. I am looking for ways to make it look a little more organized and less busy. Let me know what you think!
Also! One more thing. Here is a little project for fun! I asked Jason, my bro-in-law, if he had some spare time to check out my new character Stella, and see if he would like to apply some awesome flash styles onto her. So, here is our first draft! May I present, the most unfortunate Stella:

I really like the look of it overall... it's just, like you say, a little busy. Maybe a little more whitespace, and lose the text up top whenever the large images are displayed. Maybe the text would make a good "loading" screen?
I think you are right Doug. Perhaps I will just ad an "about me" page or something with that info on it, and maybe just one line with writing. I took off the writing, and it does make it a LOT less busy. Thanks a lot!

Ah, poor Stella.
As far as the web page, it all depends on what you want. If you want that sketchbook feel, this is perfect. If you are trying to look more professional, then yeah, more whitespace, maybe put the links more uniform and whatnot, but I like it the way it is. I don't even really notice the text, but then, I didn't read it either. So losing that would be fine. But I like the fun "messy" feel.
Stella is so sweet, I feel for her...
I love your creativity, I think I agree with Cami just because it looks like fun.
But by nature I am an organized person and like things neat and more orderly, but that is me. Go with your own instincts here.
I think that the more organized it looks the better. I think lots more people will be like you Anita, who like a more organized, clean looking site. Thanks for the tips!
