Stars-They're just like us!

So, back in May when we all took our fateful road trip to Disneyland, our overall theme for the trip coined by Britney was, "Stars-They're just like us!" and proceeded to take fake paparazzi pictures for the entirety of the trip, as if the tabloids were after us and our every day activities. We all joked, saying things like, "Stars- they stand in lines" and "stars-they lean on things." Imagine my surprise when I opened up US magazine to the "Stars-They're just like us" section, to find that their captions were just as ridiculous, if not even more so than ours. Things like, "Stars-they want to cross the street" with a picture of a celebrity pushing a crosswalk button. So naturally, I wanted to one-up this magazine on their innovative look into celebrities' lives with these little gems...

It's blue.

Friends, I would love to introduce you to our newest addition to our little family...

Yes, a 2007 blue Mazda 3 hatchback. Only 14,000 miles on it. For an insane price. The dealership couldn't even believe the deal they got on it, and showed us the blue book after we had set our preferred price, and it was considerably above what we were asking for the price. So... here she is! And just in time, too... good ol' Charlie is wheezing and coughing, and we are happy to have him retire to our back-up car. When they asked if we wanted to trade it in, we just looked at each other and laughed and laughed and laughed. We then told them our car probably wouldn't even be worth $500.

We are SO pleased to have found this deal. We have been researching cars for about a whole year, and ever since then we were pretty set on a Mazda 3, and last night we pondered and prayed about this big move in our life, and we worked out everything, and voila! A new car just in time for winter (plus, driving to Lehi and back the other day in Charlie used up an incredible 1/4 tank... I think the savings in gas alone will pay for the car)!

Anyway, so there you go! And they obviously mentioned that this car is nice and spacious for car seats. :) But what really sold me was the fact that the front window wasn't duct taped closed.

If you think I did, you're just one of those people who thinks I did...

Can't believe I just found this... This one is for you, mom. Enjoy.

That time of year

One of the things I look forward to the most after Halloween (besides the upcoming holidays, of course) is the post-Halloween-Strong-Bad-Makes-Fun-Of-Fan-Costumes. This year was pretty good. I highly recommend it.

Check this year's episode out.

And last years was pretty good as well. (We just watched them all, and laughed the hardest at this one.)

07 had a few good laughs.

Finally, 06, the original.

Life goes on

So I guess I haven't updated in quite some time. Not much has been happening, though, so you guys haven't really missed much.

Jeff is still doing great in school. He has registered for his last round of classes coming up in the winter semester! We are so close to being done! He has been working hard this whole semester trying to get the best of grades, which I am very pleased about. Though, I am heading out to Maryland during finals week, which I am excited about, but it will be crazy weird, as Jeff and I have yet to spend a night apart from each other since marriage. But we will cope, and hopefully Jeff will be busy studying and taking tests, and I will be busy snuggling Em and KC's fat babies.

I am 22 weeks now! Half way there, and enjoying this pregnancy. I feel so blessed, as most things I hear people complaining about being pregnant I haven't experienced. I had some slight morning sickness for a few weeks at the beginning, but other than that, I feel exactly the same as I did before I was pregnant, but get the privilege of feeling little growing hands and feet tickle my insides. Sometimes I get scared that I am not ready to be a mommy, but I remember how we contemplated long and hard about having children, and we know this is the right thing to do for us at this time. And I am sure it is absolutely normal to be anxious and nervous at the prospect of parenthood while pregnant (am I right, Em?) but the love of this unborn child wipes away all our self-doubts and fears. I am just grateful I have Jeff here with me, who I simply know is just going to be a wonderful daddy to our little Penny, and be a source of strength and confidence for me. Mostly I just can't wait to see her bright, little face in my arms.

In other news, I bought some maternity pants today! Thanks to the ladies at work, I got a great tip to check out Burlington. I don't think I have stepped inside there since... sometime long ago. Anyway, I was reluctant to buy maternity pants because most places sell them for SO much, and I thought I would just suffer through, wearing my old pants unbuttoned or the surprisingly uncomfortable yoga pant, but today I was able to get two styles for an awesome deal. Yay! I was tempted to start buying a few outfits for Penny, but I thought it would just make me more impatient for her to be here, and I felt it best to leave that for a little bit sooner to the due date.

Please excuse this ugly picture, our camera died after snapping this one. Booooo. Anyway, as you can clearly see, I am definitely growing a baby in there :) Yay.
